How can i get sound, webcam & video configured on rhel5 for my acer 5710 laptop?

I have tried several times to configure the sound with the help of some ebooks but still no remedy. Please i will be very grateful if i can get this problem solved through this forum. I am a first timer in linux OS. Thanks and God Bless.

there should be a volume control symbol up by your clock (or down). Right click on it and select Open Volume Control. Make sure everything is unmuted.

One more thing that will help... what linux distrobution did you install?

Thanks for your support, the version of linux i installed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and my volume isn't in a mute state.
