Help to install on Thinkpad 350
OK people.I have 3 old IBM Thinkpad 350's, 486 SL/25 ,no cdrom,no ethernet.I do have a Backpack cdrom parallel port drive that I know works(good w/dos). Made a bootdisk w/pportide.i, loads, but then asks for ram disk image.
VFS: Insert root floppy disk to be loaded into RAM disk and press enter Now what? It looks like the pportide image is not recognizing the cdrom drive. What can be done?Do I need to pass any commands at the initial boot? Trying to load Slackware 10.0 BTW some specs: 8mb ram, 258mb hdd, mono display I know it isn't much, but does have a pcmcia slot. Thought if I could run Linux, may give it to th 6 year old to get online( windrivers 98+ only for the wireless card, cannot install 98 or higher....so Linux!) ANY help would be appreciated Any Help |
Forget it. No answer,I'll just put win95 on it.
I'm tired of posting questions on this site, and not getting any answers. At least I know it works and is supported on 95....Put in disk, goto setup, and done Goodbye linux I love the idea of linux, but when i ask a question,I NEVER get a straight answer |
