Did you installed on your HD using a CD, or via USB, or are you running from USB?
When I see the error messages, I think there is a problem with the cables from your HD/CD
Quote:
media test failure..check the cable
i can try it perfectly with the usb..works good as long as i dont use it from the hdd.
You can't boot the windows CD
If the laptop is still under warranty, go to the reseller.
If not, you could try to open it and check the cables.
hey thanx, im even considering opensuse, dunno what u think of it....wanna try linux for instance...looks better than windows...but its becoming way too complicated, dunno why :S
every distro is somewhat different so thats why I said try others...
best to load up your usb with as many as possible, maybe both live and install versions, or whatever, and testdrive them.
for example, my very old Toshiba 7000CT lappy will only run ArchBang very well, many won't even boot on it or can't get the graphics right.
anyway, if you want to install many livecd versions onto your usb its kinda easy and there are diverse ways to do it, some simple, some complicated.
it's your world wit Linux, so whatever you wanna do...
that's IF you don't have any hardware issues as repo mentioned....
Repo: my laptop is brand new, just got it yesterday night, less than 24 hours with it.....i installed the ubuntu os with my usb.....but i cant use it....dunno why....it was working perfectly with the linpus....
it reads the dvd perfectly but it simply wont let me work with ubuntu when booted from my hd....
When you installed from usb to the HD, did you get any error messages?
Do you have a CD with ubuntu?
What happens if you boot from the ubuntu CD?
Did you removed linpus during install?
Do you have a restore or install disk for linpus?
i will answer to all ur questions in order.
1. no, no problem at all, it installed perfectly
2. i dont have an ubuntu cd, so i downloaded it and save it on a usb
3. yes, i removed the linpus
4. i have a restore cd that came with my laptop
i had to install it after i booted with the live ubuntu, from there i installed it...it was a problem with the video card i think now its updating, im happy with the way it looks

After reading through quite a few posts, I have noticed that the OP failed to originally tell us that he was running a live CD and never installed, which we assumed. And yes, it was a minor problem with your video card
