help/suggestions for installing slackware on HP zv6000 notebook
 

I am kind of new to using linux as I used to use a unix bases system years ago and have used friends off and on over the years. Anyway a friend convinced me to load slack on my pc. It worked out great and I appriciate the help people offer. I am now hooked on linux. I want to install it on my school/work laptop. I got this lap for a great deal with a corperate discount and I couldn't pass it up. I want to get rid of the current OS (windows) and load slackware on it if possibe. My question is has anyone successfully done this distro, if not what ones should I try and what are the noticeable differences if any between these. Also what issues should I be aware of and has anyone gotten the ATI 200M card to work? Oh I also have 3200 AMD with ATI 200M and speedbooster wifi
Anyway any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Compaq R4000 which is the same computer. Do a search of this site and also check out this site for help with this laptop.
