Help Me!! Connect to the Internet....Please

I'm so close. I think all I need is a little push and I'll be there.

I've got a HP Pavilion ze2000 laptop with a BCM4318 AirForce One 54g 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller.

When it attempts to activates it gets to 28% and then CONNECTION FAILURE

Here are my setting:

KNetworkManager

Interface: wlan0

Bandwidth: 54 Mb/s

Active: yes

IP: 0.0.0.0

Hardware Address: 00:14:A5:18:8A:37

Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0

Broadcast: 0.0.0.0

Network: Jessica

Hidden: no

Access Point: 00:14:6C:3D:EE:86

Signal Strength: 100%

Frequency: 2.462 Ghz

Encrypted: no

Any help that you could give me would be very helpful.

Mike

The IP should be something like this: 192.168.xx.xx (where xx is something between 1 and 254).
The Subnet Mask should be: 255.255.0.0
Does your configuration tool have options for IP's gateways etc. or maybe automatic IP's with DHCP?
(Most access point run a DHCP server which allows the automatic way, otherwise you'll need static IP's)

That's the way for testing a device in Linux (encryption must be disabled on the AP); afterwards you should use wpa encryption (perhaps with wpa_supplicant...).
