Help configuring Lenovo Ideapad specia keys

Hi, I recently purchased Lenovo Z570 laptop. Installed Mint 12 with gnome and all works fine, except I cannot use or configure some touch keys and few Fn+F(x) key combos.

My Fn+Down/Fn+Up key combo adjusts brightness just fine, Fn+F1 combo makes it go to sleep etc. but the Fn+F6 key combo which is supposed to disable touchpad doesn't work.. Similarly some touch keys work while others don't...volume up/down touch key works fine but the camera(multimedia) key does not(pressing it won't do anything)...I am not worried about them not configured out of the box or that it should do what it says(like one touch key), I am concerned whether or not they can be configured manually for any task, like for eg. I want one-touch-rescue key to open 'cheese' application.

I tried xev and rgot confused because the keycode generated by multimedia key, one-key rescue key and Fn+F6 are the same! i.e keycode 248. Also xev won't generate any keycode for Fn key...now how can I setup a short/key combo in gnome when it won't even recognize the key? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

*Edit for spelling*

Some of those are probably ACPI keys, so xev doesn't even see them. Try acpi_listen, then you'll have to define them in the handler.sh file.

Also, the Fn key isn't a normal key so you can't use it in shortcuts, it is a hardware level thing, the OS doesn't know it exists. The Windows key, also called the Super key, is good for things like that if you have one.
