Hello,

Welcome to LQ,

From a first glance, it seems the problem is related to Kernel Mode Setting (KMS). (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...l_mode_setting

Try to add the following line to the lilo.conf:

Code:
append="nomodeset"
If the append line already exist in your lilo.conf, just add nomodeset to the string.

In case, the above does not work, please provide more information about your machine. Graphic card, processor?

Lightbulb Solved

aragorn2101, thank you for an answer!

Problem solved by migrating from Slackware 14.1 to Slackware current (kernel 4.4.7).
Old kernel module 'radeon' didn`t provide /dev/dri/card0 required for drm modesetting.
