Hard drives not detected on Toshiba Qosmio G25

I've got a Toshiba Qosmio G25 as the title would suggest, and I've been attempting to dual boot Win XP Media Center (what comes with the laptop) and Fedora Core 5. However, when running the install, it claims to not be able to detect the hard drives.

According to Device Manager in Win XP, the disk drives are:
TOSHIBA RAID LD0 SCSI Disk Device
TOSHIBA RAID LD1 SCSI Disk Device

The laptop comes stock with 2x 60GB disk drives, one with the Windows install on it, the other for just about anything. I've cleared out the secondary drive and de/un-partitioned it so that it's just a drive with ~60GB of unallocated space - and in retrospect, that may be where I screwed up first.

Anyways, I'm going to continue lurking around to find answers, but it seems that Qosmio users all have the problem of figuring out how to dual boot given the way the system functions...

What controller is used for hard drives? Google the controller chip. Does FC5 kernel support it? Check XP device manager and linux-on-laptops/toshiba for hardware/controller details. Enjoy your lappy:)

Thanks :) I'll try looking for that info -- will post back what I figure it out.

The qosmio uses SATA for the drive controller. I had to "break" the raid array to be able to dual-boot. By breaking the array, I was able to use the second drive as a second drive.
