I cannot get my pccard slots to work with SuSE 8.2, so I use an external usb reader. Now I can finally use my Toshiba 2GB card and use it between my laptop and desktop.

One day I will have to learn how to recompile the kernel........

On the other hand, the amazing changes, updates, bug fixes and so on that I have noticed between SuSE 8.0 and 8.2 are really a tribute to SuSE.

I don't think I would buy another HP though. They proclaim in ads they support Linux, but as a user I haven't noticed. I use to own a Toshiba years ago, and from waht I have read on this forum about laptops I would defintely consider them. I would consider Paceblade also. The small Sony looks brilliant too, apart from the cost!

However that said, I love Linux on my Omnibook. Shisen-Su great game. Internet and email. Its all there and it is much faster than my previos windows setup. I will never dual boot on this laptop.

I like very much the Archive Web Page option in Konqueror.

I gave up dual booting a couple of years ago, and while other members of the household run Windoze, they do admire my little machine.

I actually found my Dell Latitude 500MHz PIII easier to setup than my Compaq Presario desktop(700MHz), I think mabey because the hardware is older, I still have yet to get the correct kernel for the Compaq that has AC97 sound support and install. My laptop is now my pride and joy, there nothing better than being able to demonstrate how cool Linux is then by whipping out my Slackware 8.1 machine, named Aladium...:D
