open a terminal and become root
then enter "blkid" into terminal

that's B L K I D
but not in capital letters

does it say usb UUID is 8836-09F7 ?

Here is pretty much the EXACT error I got when trying to boot:
-----------------------------------
WARNING: Root File system is missing
Create symlinx/dev/root and then exit this shell to continue
the boot sequence

Bash: no job control in this shell
bash-4.0#
