Fedora Core on Toshiba Satellite A110
Well guys, I REALLY need your help to get better with my sexual life!
I met this beautiful girl who has a brand new Toshiba satellite A110, and she asks to me to install linux on it cause she feels sick with virus and software problems... so I went to her home to install FC5 on her laptop and... well, it doesn't work!  I mean that the installation starts, and recognizes some device, the video card (ATI radeon Express 200M series) but doesn't recognize the video. Then it freezes showing a colorful screen, and a big square that moves moving the mouse... vener seen something like this... I tried with noprobe without success... Any help? Do you think I have to change distro? I need a simple distro as she's a newbie, I use fedora and I think it is quite good and easy. Thanks people... it would be very useful to me if you help... I would get closer to her... :D |
Here is a link to a forum discussion for dealing with the video card that is on this laptop (ATI Radeon® Xpress 200M) in Linux

I'll take a better look, but it seems to me that this post won't help. Probably I was not clear: I can't end the installation! During the installation Fedora recognizes the ATI card, then says the video is unknown, then the screen becames colorful... I only succeded the installation in graphical mode, but it is not useful for a laptop to work without a gui...
