Fedora Core 9 on Dell XPS M1530 has no sound?

Hi, I have just completed installing Fedora Core 9 on a Dell XPS M1530 and everything works seemingly ok, except sound.

I get the following messages in the syslog:

Ok, just a follow up, the sound is infact working but only through the headphones. How do I get the on board speakers to work like under FC8.

Possible solution

I have the same setup (XPS M1530 & FC9) and originally had the same problem. I ended up having to go into Volume Control, then enable (Edit -> Preferences) the Surround option, and finally unmute it. If that doesn't work, you might need to install alsa-oss-1.0.15-0.1.fc9 if you have the Sigmatel audio device (I'm pretty sure you do).

Good luck.
