Fedora Core 5 Installation Problem on 2001 Sony VAIO
Hello All!
I am having trouble installing Fedora Core 5 on my 2001 Sony VAIO laptop. It has a 10GB Hard Drive, and a Pentium 3 processor. It is currently running Windows XP Pro, but I will be wiping it clean for the installation. It currently has about 1GB of space left. (During the instalation, I will tell it to wipe the HD clean). When I press "return" on the boot prompt, it goes to white-text-on-black-screen. It hangs on the following line: ACPI:Subsystem revision 20060127 Please help me! NOTE:I have already tried the following two boot codes: acpi=off linux acpi=noirq ~knoppixguy |
Hello, you can try pci=noacpi or add no_timer_check as kernel parameter or change kernel for new one.
