Fedora Core 3 Radeon Mobility M6- no OpenGL

Alright, i've performed a fresh install of fedora core 3 on a Sony Vaio and everything is working perfectly: that is, with the exception of OpenGL. Well, most of OpenGL, as glxgears gives me a good framerate but as soon as I try 3d acceleration with tuxracer it runs terribly slow and opening it in a terminal shows that it's running software render since it can't see the drivers.

This is baffling because the laptop's video card, which shows up as a Radeon Mobility M6, is supported by DRI drivers, so I see no reason why it shouldn't work.

I've tried the fglrx drivers, and they invariably fail, even when installed correctly, leaving me with DRI drivers as the only thing that works.

Help would be much appreciated...

You're out of luck

Like you, I have Radeon M6 LY.. and the available drivers are crappy.

2D games should be fine, but 3D gaming is an impossibility..

Sucks, eh? There is even a petition for ATI to support the card... but no dice.
