Fedora 7 Hangs during Install Toshiba Satellite A215-4757

Can anyone help? I cannot get the Fedora 7 to complete an install on my new laptop.

Laptop specs:
Toshiba Satellite A215-4757
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL56 1.80 GHz
BIOS version is 1.40
2GB RAM
250GB Hard Drive
Windows Vista Operating System

I have partitioned the hard drive using the preferred Vista method
of "shrinking". The Vista portion is 221GB and I now have an unallocated 10GB partition that I need to put Fedora 7 onto.

Booting from the Fedora 7 DVD, the installation hangs at the following location: ACPI: Using IOAPIC for interrupt routing

The only errors I notice prior to this hanging are:
ACPI Error (evregion-0317): No handler for region [ERAM] (dfa15cf4) [Embedded Control] [20070126]

ACPI Error (exfldio-0289): Region Embedded Control(3) has no handler [20070126]

ACPI Exception (dswexec-0462): AE_NOT_EXIST, While resolving operands for [OpcodeName unavailable] [20070126]

APCI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.HTEV] (Node dfa0cdc8), AE_NOT_EXIST

ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCIO.LPC0.EC0_._REG] (Node dfa17e14), AE_NOT_EXIST

ACPI: Interpreter enabled
ACPI: (supports S0 S3 S4 S5)
ACPI: Using IOAPIC for interrupt routing
- Stalls here -

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Buying A215-4757, or any similar toshiba, is a big mistake

The laptop is junk and likely has some serious design and/or product defects. I have one that is less than 30 days old and shuts down randomly. If you search the internet for other reviews, you will find similar problems. Mine would be going back if it wasn't past the 14 day return policy, the way it is now I just wasted a grand.

Make sure you are using x86_64 DVD. I can install ok using that, but the installation stalls at the same point you see with the i386 DVD.

64bit is what you want anyway.

I used someone else's suggestion of loading the Fedora 7 onto an external hard drive....except in this case, I used an old dell laptop i had since there were no conflicts with the XP version and the Fedora 7 DVD. That solution works fine for me since it's only needed for a college course i'm taking. The outstanding issue remains wireless - Madwifi wont have the necessary drivers published until early december...until them i'm hardwired. We actually use Suse at work instead of the Fedora, but the Linux course at school is using Fedora 7.
