FC6: Screen Flashes in X...
I'm running a Compaq Presario V2000 laptop and I just recently installed Fedora Core 6 (x86_64) on it. The install went beautifully and it is also running very well. I've installed the ATI drivers from the LIVNA repository, and I even have 3D acceleration working well.
However, whenever I'm in X/GNOME (which I always am), the entire screen briefly goes blank for the duration of maybe a half of a second. This occurs generally about every 2 minutes or so. The laptop is a Turion64 3800+, 1 GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon Mobility M200 (I think). I have run both Fedora Core 5 and Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (both 64-bit) and have never had this problem before. Also, I notice the problem when I'm running on battery power, but have not tested it on AC power yet. Any ideas? Thanks. |
Try the ATI driver found here; http://zod.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=644
