FC6 Intel 3945 after upgrade not working

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. A couple nights ago I had my 3945 intel working after loading the the rpm from atrpms...

Well last night i did a yum update... I notice it found a new update for 3945... I did the upgrade everything was find but right when I restarted I could not start up my wifi any more... My FN+F2 does not work. I have to do modprobe ipw3945;ipw3945d
to get the service to work. Then the FN+F2 works.. my light turns on and I'm able to see some access points...

why now do I have to do modprobe ipw3945;ipw3945d
to make it work? Was it right for me to upgrade ?

Any kind of help would be good..

Malachai.

I would remove the atrpms ipw3945 stuff. Install the freshrpms-release package:

rpm -ivh http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp....fc.noarch.rpm

Then do: yum install dkms dkms-ipw3945

And never be bothered having to download and install new packages again after a kernel upgrade.
