FC4 on hp dv1000 wireless and sound card problem

I am new to linux and have installed FC4 on my hp dv1000 laptop which has a intel ipw2200 wireless card. I have tried several times following advice in threads to set up the wireless with no success, it still maintains that the device is not present. Please help!

check out http://www.codexinteractive.com/cwt/dv1000/ for install notes F4 on your lappy or similar. Enjoy!
