FC4 eMachines ndiswrapper problem (don't think it has anything to do with FC4)

Just upgraded to FC4.
Got ndiswrapper installed alright, or at least I think I did. It says it sees my wireless card, but on the eMachines m6809 laptop I have, I can't seem to turn the stinking card on... in Windows and back in FC3 it was fn+f2, but the little ((e)) light stays off no matter what now. I played with the BIOS to no avail. I know it can work because other eMachines on the net have gotten theirs going and it worked in FC3... so... help would be appreciated. Even if you use a different distro help is still much appreciated.

Does the brightness control work mine is Fn-F7 Fn-F8 for up or down.I don't think it is a fedora or ndswrapper problem, first need to turn it on.I have a walmart special w4605 It has the same motherboard I think just a 32bit sempron. It has the broadcom BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] but I use the 4306 windows drivers.I can use all the fn keys.I'm using the new kernel, there is some stuff in there for the ati chipset.

Yeah, the brightness buttons work, as does F1, the one that turns off all of the little lights, which is to be expected. In FC3 the wireless switch worked, because if my lappy didnt get a wireless network right away, I would have to turn it on and then activate the card.. but now it won't let me turn it on at all.
