F11 wont link to external monitor


I have been using linux a while , ,but ive been waiting on 11 and ive been using w7 and i have had no problem with my ext.monitor connecting to my laptop, installed the f11 on my laptop and it sees it but wont connect , i downloaded all the driver files but no results

I use "xrandr" to activate my external display from my Thinkpad R60.

xrandr --output LVDS --mode 1024x768 --output VGA --mode 1280x1024 --same-as LVDS
