[Closed] Ethernet driver missing from HP d530 SFF computer in Ubuntu 12.04
2014-09-15
I used to be able to see my HP d530 SFF computer's Broadcom ethernet card listed in the BIOS PCI Devices section but no longer. Neither do I see it when I enter the 'sudo lishw' command in Linux. Does this mean that the ethernet driver has gone bad or been deleled somehow? My d530 is now running Ubuntu 12.04 as its only operating system.
Forget the driver at this stage. If it does not show up in the 'lspci' output then the hardware is either disabled for some reason, or has failed, as I mentioned previously.
Thank you very much for your input, which I think deals with 802.11 devices. Since I tend to think that my HP d530's ethernet hardware is gone for good in light of the data I've gathered based on advice from this website and from two other Linux-support sites, I now close this
question.
