errors scroll along on tty1-6

Hello.

I have an Acer Aspire 3000 running Fedora Core 4. When I go to any of the terminals, about 20 seconds later, I get this error:

Quote:
ACPI-0352 *** Error: Looking up [Z007] on namespace, AE_NOT_FOUND
search_node d7dc2140 start_node d7dc2140 return_node 00000000
ACPI-1138 *** Error: Method execution failed [\_SB_.BAT1._BST] (node
d7dc2f20), AE_NOT_FOUND
and then it keeps comiung up every few seconds, in any terminal.

So yeah, I'm a bit confused. Any ideas?

Well, it's an ACPI error (power management). You can try turning off ACPI at the boot prompt by supplying "acpi=off" This will boot the laptop without ACPI. However, then you'll lose nifty things like battery monitoring and such. Are there other symptoms associated with the error messages? Are there things that should be working that aren't?
