Enable 4 Channel Audio?

I have an alienware area 51m laptop that is using the C-Media CMI9738 audio codec on what SuSE detects as a SiS SI7012 South bridge chipset driving 4 speakers...

however, with my current audio setup I am only able to enjoy music through 2 of the 4 speakers

So my question is if anyone has any ideas/suggestions as to what I can do/try to get 4 channel audio going on my laptop?

Also, are both ALSA and OSS required? because I was looking through my kernel modules earlier and noticed that they are both loading... (I'm saving the 'recompiling my kernel' project for another day...)

I don't know what, if any, configuration files I should be posting, so if some more information is needed, let me know and I'll post it here.

Thanks in advance,
