Hi, I can't see why not, at this stage.
Go for it, lets check the deps of a desktop.... input, networking, sound and graphics should all work, plenty of office progs to choose from. Plenty of chat, video and music players. Windows games, ... (?) ah.. maybe. HtH Glenn |

Here are easy instructions to try Ubuntu with no risk or permanent changes to your current Windows install:
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/virtualbox Once you've test-driven Ubuntu for a couple of weeks, you'll have a good sense whether or not it will meet all of your needs. Probably you will find that you still need Windows for a few things. But if you want to make a permanent install of Ubuntu at this point, then I recommend you burn a Live DVD or create a Live USB and test-drive it (try without installing) following Step 1 of these instructions: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/...desktop-latest If this second test-drive is also a success, then at that point you may proceed to Step 2 and beyond to install Ubuntu. |
