Dear Linuxuser26,
Of course it's possible to run Fedora 11 on your RHEL 5.3 laptop providing your hard disk has sufficient space to add a partition. Use a proper Linux partition program, such as Partition Magic, Clonezilla or even the build in partition program in RHEL 5.3. Keep in mind that only 3 primary partitions can be made on one hard disk, so make the fourth one extended and then you can place logical partitions within this extended partition. Even better is to have only 2 primary partitions and then create an extended partition.
You can download the Fedora 11 net-install disk and then install Fedora via the internet on the new created partition. During the installation you will be given the opportunity to state which distribution should be the first in line to start up.
It's also advisable to create a small swap partition. It's not really necessary as Fedora will make it's own swap file, but it may slow the machine down a bit. If you already have a swap partition for RHEL 5.3 then it's not necessary.
I wish you success.
