Dual Boot XP Pro and OpenSUSE 11.0 Wireless LAN will not function in Linux Mode

I use a Gateway Laptop Model No.M675PRR, S/N 0035190647, that I am unable to connect to my WLAN with OpenSUSE 11.0.

Details: WLAN via AT&T U-Verse.
WLAN card IEEE 802.11 mode
WLAN card model 9003177
WLAN card FCC ID: HFS-8CM94306MP
WLAN card IC: 4324A-BRCM1005

What, or how, do I need to do to get this turkey to go online with OpenSUSE 11.0? My Linux is a plain vanilla DVD installation, using all standard defaults for setup, per DVD prompts, etc., but the WLAN card does not recognize the U-Verse wireless router rf signal, period. I have tried every trick in the book, including using the Windows NDIS *.inf driver files that supposedly came on my hardware,I am told, to operate this wireless card on Linux. I cannot get it to work.
This is the first conundrum of this sort that I have tried do deal with in years, but to no avail. My Linux experience goes back to the old pre-1.0 days, and now I must admit defeat.
Any input from the Linux crowd, good, bad, or indifferent will be welcomed.
