Question Do I need more then ONE swap file when using more then one Linux Distribution

I am putting several Linux distributions on my laptop and use Slaxware to partition the drive. Do I need more then one swap file? Presently I setup a swap file for each partition but I am not sure I need to.

Thank you.

Hey, Welcome to LQ!
No, you need only one swap partition.

One swap partition is enough for your computer. The size of swap depends on the amount of RAM your computer has.

When you're installing a new distro, it will probably ask you where your swap partition is. Just point it to the one you already have. All distros can share the swap partition because its contents should be as volatile as RAM. Remember, SWAP is an extension of your RAM!
