distro suggestion for old laptop

Hey!

I've been playing with linux for a few years now, and I love it (of course). But now I am curious about something.

I just picked up an old Toshiba 133 Laptop that I would like to set up as a print server on my network. Now I COULD go the easy way and pop 98 on it. This would be especially easy as some of my computers are running Microshaft OS's of varying flavors. But what fun would that be?

So I am looking for a suggestion as to which distro you guys would recommend for this purpose. All I really want is something simple with a basic GUI. I do have Mandrake 7.1 laying around that I could probably use but what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance
Nox

I just put Slack 9.1 on an old PB desktop with a pentium 150.
Slack 10 would have done just as well as Slack is still pretty
light.
You get good choices for a lightweight desktop as well:

fvwm95
fluxbox
etc.

I had to make a boot floppy and two root floppys to get the
install going, but that was very simple as the comp had Windows
on it to start with. I simply had to use Rawwrite which is included
with Slack.

Hmmm...
I hadn't thought of Slack for some reason. But that should actually work quite well.

Thanks I'll try that, Slack is pretty good for only installing what you really need.
