What I am trying to accomplish is disabling the synaptics touchpad on my Inspiron 7500 and use only the attached USB mouse. Currently they both work just fine, but I have no use for the touchpad and would like to just shut it off.
I've read through what threads I can find here on linuxquestions.org, as well as looked in a couple other sites of less usefulness, but I'm still unclear on how I can disable the synaptics touchpad on my Inspiron 7500.
The only bios options available are Enabled or Auto-Disabled, which doesn't seem to work.
I'm running Fedora Core 2, and my xorg.conf file is below - if there is any other information I can provide that will be helpful let me know.
