difficulties in config modem in TOSHIBA M30 852
 

Hello,

I am having problem in configuring dial-up connection...

Laptop TOSHIBA M30 model 852

My OS is RedHat Linux Enterprise 4 WS (Update1)

In Network confguration after i add modem the status sometimes become inactive of "configured" and even if i restart the service network or reboot my machine i always get message error 2 and sometimes error 8...

Appreciate any kind of help...

What modem? do you have the drivers installed?

I get the model from Win OS...
TOSHIBA Software Modem AMR... from Windows Device Manager

From Hardware detail:
Hardware_ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C6&SUBSYS_00011179&REV_03
Driver Provider: TOSHIBA

There's a good chance that it wont work with linux like other winmodems, try googling it.
