Sorry to say so, but the information you give's rather incomplete - it's about connecting to the internet not through dial-up but through a mobile network which is a different thing; I may be wrong, of course, but that's the impression I got from browsing BSNL's website - I had to since your post doesn't give me enough to start with. I'll be happy to be corrected by more precise information!

In case I got it right: Are you using a mobile phone to connect or is there some kind of dedicated hardware? If the former's true, how do you connect to the mobile phone? If it's a hardware tool, could you give as many specifics about it as possible?

Finally, it'd probably help if you used a more recent version of Fedora (or, for that matter, any other more modern distribution) since hardware support's constantly becoming better.

But of course, being on dial-up or any mobile service that's not 3G, it can be a pain to get hold of the media... At any rate, some vendors make ready-made installation media available for free and send them to you.

M.

Look on the modem and see if you can find a brand name and model.

Dial-up connection

Hi.....

This is simlar that of Dial-up connection.My Laptop have a in-built Modem.I have using Wvdial.My Wvdial.conf file is here:

Code:
[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttyS2
Baud = 57600
Init = ATZ
Init2 = AT S11=50
Phone = #777
Username = prakash542
Password = prakash

[Dialer shh]
Init3 = ATM0

[Dialer pulse]
Dial Command = ATDP

When i run this code in the Terminal i received following errors:

Cannot open /dev/ttyS2: Input/output error

My doubt is
Code:
Modem = /dev/ttyS2
whether this is correct or not.I am sure to say that My password,user name and phone no are correct.This is a dial-up connection.
