Dell3800 Boot problem(PCMCIA)

Hi:
I am a newbie to Linux.
I installed Redhat9.0 on my laptop, everything works fine. However, I did something really silly(shut down the system by hit on the power).
After that, the system can not boot any more. It always stop at following stage:

Starting pcmcia: Yenta IRQ list 0698, PCI irq11
Socket status: 30000006
Yenta IRQ list 0698, PCI irq11
Socket status: 30000006

I tried interactive booting and disable the PCMCIA slot, it works now. The problem is that the only way my machine connecting to others is the network(PCMCIA card).
Is it possible to get it back to the orginal status without reinstall the system? It seems to me that the second slot causes the problem. Is there any method I can disable one slot?
