dell modem issue

hi,

recently i installed MEPIS 2004.6 in my dell 510m
all works fine but,
i couldnot connect to internet using internal modem,
its installed on /dev/ttySL0,
i think the driver is called slamr.

when i try to connect using kppp , its give me error msg" no dial tone"
and when i uncheck "wait for dial tone box" its respond " no answer"

i clicked "query modem" bottun, its responde fine and recognize the modem

what should i do ?

It's probable that you need a different driver. According to this link, there is a Dell Linux driver for it: http://www.modemsite.com/56k/bcm.asp
