dell laptop cd-rom prob

I have a dell 5100 witha penitum 4 iand has anyone have a prob with there dvd/cd-writer drive go out on them before?IIt like makeing a load nosise when it try to but a cd.

I just got a 80 hard drive and that was not the prob odd.

you could check to see if the spinner might be lose or cracked that would cause the noise the manufacture should replace if its falty.

these two sites could help you out a lot one is for a hard drive the other is for a dvd drive both are for laptops one is for toshiba though it might be helpfull. Sorry I couldnt be more help because I am on my first laptop here.
