Dell Inspiron 8000 and Slack 9.1
Successfully installed slack 9.1 on Inspiron 8000 system. Currently hanging up on this line during boot up:
cs: 10 port probe 0x0800-0x08ff: Line before this reads: cs: 10 port probe 0x0c00-0x0cff: clean. Im pretty new to linux, any help would be appreciated :) PS: these errors occur after PCMCIA initialization |
What sort of installation method did you choose?
Full, Newbie etc... |
full install

i know in Gentoo there is a separate package for pcmcia called pcmcia-cs, you might want to disable the kernel pcmcia stuff and use that instead or if you can't even get into the system see if there is a kernel command line argument to boot the system with, i.e. nopcmcia or something

thanks for the info!
I'll try some different things and post the results. thanks again! |
reinstalled without PCMCIA support, will boot now. thanks a bunch :)

this is a laptop, right? so in the end you *might* need pcmcia support (for ethernet card or whatever), again, i don't know if slackware has this but there is a separate package for pcmcia in Gentoo called pcmcia-cs, you can find info on this at:
