Dell Inspiron 5150 Instalation Problems

Here goes. I'm a Linux Newbie who is having problems installing SUSE 9.0 on a Dell Inspiron 5150. I'm just about to give up but first thought I'd post this here. Problem is that I cannot get KInternet (part of SUSE 9.0) to recognize the built in Modem. It's a Broadcom v.92 56k modem. I've tried downloading a driver from Dell but it clearly does not work. Any help? Thank you all. Dave
