debian on del xps

It’s running fairly well on my Dell Inspiron XPS now… I got the resolution to be at 1920x1200 which is the highest supported by the monitor…

A few problems that I still have is my inability to access the CD Drive… Where would this be located and what would I need to install for this

I’m running kernel 2.6.8

When I used Cedega to install Steam/Counterstrike, it works and will play, but it will only run well in software mode… is there a way I can emulate the openGL or Direct3d functions in the game…

My sound is a bit messed up… it will play stuff without flaw, but as soon as I try to access a mixer or recorder, it will crap out.

My wireless doesn’t work

Specs on the computer are as followed

Intel Pentium4 /w HTT 3.4GHz 512KB L2 Cache
1024MB (512x2) DDR400 Ram
15.4” Widescreen Ultra XGA (1920x1200 max res.)
80GB Harddrive
8x DL DVD Burner
128MB ATI Radeon 9700 8x AGP
SigmaTel C-Major Audio Soundcard
Dell Wireless 1450 a/b/g miniPCI

Any help is much appriciated
