I'm completely new with using linux. I read about it and want to use it to set up some computers in a small community library in Kenya.

I'm trying to install demian linux on my Toshiba PII laptop to test and familiarlize myself with it. I managed to partition and start up the installation, but have stalled. I'm installing the current stable version cd1 i386.

It gives the following error: "INSTALLATION PROGRAM COULD NOT FIND ANY DIRECTORY THAT CONTAINS A FILE BASEDEBS.TAR OR DISTS/WOODY/MAIN/BINARY-I386/RELEASE"

Can anyone help me proceed further. Please let me know!

did you check the md5sum of the cd you downloaded?
