Could DNS setting be the problem...?

New install of Fedora 20 with whatever the latest packaged KDE 4.x was rolled into the spin last week. Installed on a 2008-ish Fujitsu Lifebook T-series. Single boot; encrypted disk through the installer.

On one wifi network, no problems. On another wifi network (the one where the machine will be based), this problem:

Connection into router seems fine. Both Konqueror and Firefox can connect to some sites, e.g., Fedora and Google. A SpiderOak client connects just fine both ways with its servers--but note that it's not a browser, and it probably has home base wired in; same with Apper looking at the repository for updates. It's just the browsers, and for most but not all sites. The error message returned by both browsers is that the server cannot be located.(Firefox in a Windows 7 machine on the same network has no problems, nor does my iPhone.)

1. Could the problem be with the DNS configuration of the machine?

2. Where/how do I change those settings, e.g., to put in the ISP's nameservers? (I'm new to Linux.)

TIA.

I am not sure about the other stuff's which you have mentioned above.
But the DNS configuration you can check under
#vi /etc/resolv.conf
and just for a testing add google DNS
nameserver 8.8.8.8
