connecting my laptop to a windows network

Hello.

ok I have been able to network at home using a firewall with my linux box Fedora Core 3 as teh main hub sending packets out.

I just started a new job and want to connect to their network which is windows. I have been able to connect to the network using dhcp settings and or static IP settings.

But I can not connect to the internet.

netstat -r tells me that I am connected to the network.

Any ideas.

Your dhcp client may not be updating your /etc/resolv.conf.

You'll need to put in the DNS server there to resolve IP's. This is assuming their DHCP server is working properly and you are routing through the right gateway address.

Thankyou. That was the problem. I had to change the DNS numbers to the right ones and also the search path.
