configuration wireless device in laptop
Hi,
I had to installed fedora 8 in my laptop(Compaq Presario C700 model). can while i was execute 'lspci' command it was show. 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5006EG 802.11 b/g Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01) so that i guess wireless device drive was installed. how i configure wireless device? Kindly any one help to me. Regards, maniannam |
Showing up in 'lspci' just shows that the kernel knows the device exists and can identify it, it doesn't necessarily mean that it installed the drivers.
I have a hunch that you don't really have an AR5006EG card, my money is on it being an AR5007EG, which I don't believe is really supported out of the box until kernel 2.6.27. Post the output of 'lspci -nn', that will tell for sure which card it is. |
No, the driver is not installed - lsmod output would show whether proper module is loaded or not. Output of ifconfig -a would also help. After all, this one: http://snapshots.madwifi-project.org...-hal-0.10.5.6/ should work for your card.
