Compatible Agere Modem Help

Hey,

I know I'm supposed to post my /sbin/lspci output but when I enter that command in the terminal I get a bab command message. I couldn't even get the scanmodem application to run.

If somebody can point me in the right direction I'll be more than happy to post it.

Anyway, I'm trying to install my AC'97 modem in Mandrake 9.2 kernel 2.4.2.2 (I'm pretty sure that is the correct kernel version).

I downloaded the driver slmdm-2.7.10 due to the information posted here

I was just told that I can't post the URL!

I also edited the file that the page specify's.

Windows XP identifys my modem as a Toshiba Software Modem Agere PCI modem.

When I went to the terminal and initialized the make command I got this error message.

I would prefer if I could get scanmodem to work, before I install the driver.
I just don't know what to look for or what commands to enter to get it to run. I'm completely new to linux, so I just don't know.

I'm on my way to getting things configured it's just extremely hard without a working internet connection as thats my only resource. So I've been switching back and fourth between xp and mandrake trying to get things done.
