Compatibi;ity questions

I'm about to buy a Toshiba satellite 1950-801.

Here are the basic specs:
Processor: Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz
512 MB ddr ram
Nvidia GeForce 4 Go
60Gb HD
WirelessLAN
10/100 LAN baseTX
Sound blaster pro compatible sound card
wireless keyboard and mouse as well as a touchpad
8 useless hot keys
Pretty heavy, 4.36 KG
16" display
and a v.90 modem, probably a winmodem...

Now i would like to know if this looks like Linux Compatible? I tried my best to find a laptop that will be fully Linux compatible, and this is the neares i got. Only the modem might not work AFAIK.
Any comments? Do you think Linux will run fine on this before i pay a lifetime of savings for it?
Thanks for any suggestions/comments.

You probably don't get much more compatible than that There is very little that Linux will not run on. You should have no problems with the GeForce, wireless or LAN, or sound blaster. Not sure about the rest, but I'd be surprised if they were unsupported. With a WinModem, you're probably out of luck there.

The "8 useless hotkeys" can actually be configured, AFAIK, using a program called Linux Easy Access Keyboards. I haven't tried it, but it looks like it may let you put those 8 keys to good use.

Thanks for the feedback. Also thanks for pointing me to the LinEAK project, it looks like i'll make use of the 8 useless multimedia keys after all!
I can't wait to get the laptop, my first one! I'll write a page to add it to linux laptops since my laptop is not listed there yet.
Again thanks. Any other feedback welcome!
