compaq x1010us?

I need a little input on a laptop that i was thinking of taking a interest in. I would really like it if you guys and girls give me your honest opinion on the Compaq X1010US:

processor Intel® Pentium® M Processor 1.3GHz

memory 512MB DDR SDRAM (2 x 256MB) at 266MHz

hard drive 60GB Enhanced IDE [gigabyte is defined as 1,000,000,000 bytes, accessible capacity may vary]

multimedia drive DVD/CD-RW combo drive

display 15.4" WXGA WVA display (1280 x 800)

communications 'Integrated 56K modem, Intel® pro wireless 2100 802.11b and 10/100 Ethernet

video ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9200 with 32MB DDR

sound Internal speakers Volume control button and mute button

weight 6.5 lb.

dimensions 14.06" (L) x 10" (W) x 1.30" (H)

Is it worth buying seeing how the model is discontinued now? Is it worth buying considering how people are so against compaq and hp as linux notebooks?

well, i really dig the intel p4 mobile processors, i have a 1.3 in my IBM thinkpad T40. i think i'm going to go IBM from now on personally, i had problems with my former dell, the specs are really good though, i'd just get an extended warranty and you should be okay

Well i was doing some digging also and i think i am going to go IBM as well. I really don't want to waste my money on something i don't know that will last.
