Compaq Presario V6211 display settings

Dear all,

I got a new compaq presario v6211 laptop which has AMD Turion 64X2 1.6GHz. It comes with preloaded vista home basic version.

I tried to install suse10.2 64bit and FC6 64 bit with DVDs

I encountered the following problems

Suse 10.2:

It has got stuck while loading kernel at 13% . after that i couldnt proceed ahead

FC6:

it is just throwing a blank screen.

please help...

try to use the "noacpi" option..
i hope it should work.

Did you get the solution for your laptop.. for installation of Linux.?

or did you changed your mind..

no some how i installed 32 bit suse 10.0. i think i m not using my laptop to its max capability
