Angry Compaq Presario R3210US Having Problems Installing Wirelles NIC under SuSE 9.2

Hi I'm a recent convert to Linux and I'm having some serious trouble getting the integrated 802.11 b/g NIC configured. I have done some searching online but i haven't been able to find a driver for the type of NIC I have. For those of you who are interested in helping me out, when i access suseplugger i can see that my NIC is Identified as "Hewlett-Packard Company BCM4306 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN Controller". However, when I run YaST it doesn't throw back an error message, but it shows that only my integrated 10BaseT NIC has been configured and that is using DHCP. I have managed to fumble my way through getting almost every other device in my Compaq Presario R3210US (that is the correct model # in case I mistyped in the thread title) and have ended up using the Linux side of my dual boot setup far more than the windows side. However, this is becoming a serious issue because i'm losing half of my network connectivity to this problem.... if anyone has any ideas please post!

hopefully ndiswrapper

well, good luck with that. i am using the same internal wireless nic in my pressario 2232us and could not it to work either using mepis, knoppix. just installed suse 9.2 and was in the process of trying it but of course i left all my suse dvd/cd at home and cant connect to net from here with the laptop to get ndiswrapper. also having issue just seeing my usbstick from suse 9.2 (but can see it fine on mepis).

have a pcmcia wireless card (same chipset as the internal) by motorola that works fine from mepis. but the internal i have never gotten it to work in linux.

instructions are on here and a few sites to get it installed using ndiswrapper - but that does not mean it wil work for you. I am alost tempted in taking that card out and replacing it with something else.
