Smile Compaq Contura Aero 4/25

I am trying to get my hands on a Compaq Contura Aero 4/25, (just for kicks) and want to know how these operate with Linux? (As in NetBSD, DSL, etc). I want to buy one, but would like an opinion on their quality. Judged by computers of that day, not now.

OK-thanks...I just need to find a laptop now. Don't respond to this last comment as moderators shut my thread in General down asking where to get one...

Hello? Does Linux run OK on a Mac or is it better to go with PC?

after googling with "linux COMPAQ LTE 4/25" ::

http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~alexj/l...aqLite425.html

and there are others ...

//generally speaking ... you have to find a way all by yourself to get into them with linux if you think its worth the trouble ... after you managed to have linux(or whatever systems) on them then you can carry on with your initial motivations(which are not simply just installing something on it) in using that machine ... so its not something that is to be learned and remember for the rest of your life ... there must be a way as long as you think you are not too ridiculous for the machines on your hands ...
