CentOS 3.5 - Toshiba P35-S605

Hi all. I am trying to migrate from Windows to Linux on my LapTop but itś not very easy.

My Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P35-S605. Here are the specs:

http://linux.toshiba-dme.co.jp/linux...del=PSP30U-21V

The Distro Ive chosen is CentOS 3.5. Ive managed to install it and it is working now but I am abviously having some problems. Iĺl try to lay out the problems clearly and one by one.

1.CentOS 3.5 doesnt seem to support my Mobility Radeon 9000 so Im just using a generic driver.

2.My screen has a resolution of 1440x900 but it wont display in anything other than 1024x768.

3.No sound card has been deteced. (My laptop uses Realtek ALC250 Software Sound).

4.I want to setup dual monitor so I have 2 screens.

To sum up, I want to be able to have 2 screens with the maximum possible resolution and have audio. Once I have that, I should be able to handle the rest. I dont want to just give up and say LETS GO BACK TO WINDOWS. I like Linux! So help is much appreciated.

One more thing - Im a bit of a n00b so I need quite a bit of step by step help.

Thanks alot in advance!
