Question CDRW on Evo n1005v and 2.6.2

Dear all,

I'm trying to get my cdrw working on RedHat v9 with kernel 2.6.2.

I tried to use ide-scsi=/dev/hdc as one of the kernel arguments but when I tried to mount /dev/cdrom it just says "/dev/cdrom" is not a vaild block device. /dev/cdrom is a symlink to /dev/hdc.

In /var/log/dmesg in the last few lines this appears;

"ide-scsi is deprecated for CD-Burning, use ide-cd instead and pass dev=/dev/hdX ...."

I've tried hdc=ide-cd too but this doesn't work either.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks,

I think I solved it,

I had to remove the ide-scsi module completely from the Kernel and add ide-cd support built into the Kernel, i.e. not a module.

Now it finds the CDRW and I've managed to burn an ISO on it.
