Hi,

I got a problem with my mandrake, when i am installing Mandrake on my laptop ( IBM, R52 ) after running installation it says NO CDROM DETECTED. I should mention my machine has a DVD-RW... Then it says choose a driver from the menu & i have no clue what should i do there cause cdrom.ko didnt work on the list too...

P.S. Machine details : P M 740(1.7GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HDD, 15in 1024x768 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-Burner, Intel 802.11bg wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, IEEE 1394, 6 cell Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

What kernel you currently using?

If it's 2.6.xx, then what name of your hdd (sda, hda, etc.)
It's important, because 2.6.xx kernels may work with two sata drivers(you have SATA, right?).

And also you may list your lspci and dmesg commands output.
